Activity 1:
Xi Men Ding (西门町)

Xi Men Ding is just directly outside XiMen station (西门站)and this station is on the same metro line (Bannan line 板南线) as ZhongXiao XinSheng station (忠孝新生站)! Just a few stops away!

Vibrant hangout place! Lots of student and teenager!

Lots of cinema! so you need not have to worry about limited tickets etc!

We spotted a unique way of advertising in Xi Men Ding! People standing around holding big advertisement board with arrows leading you to their shops!

I did not have the chance to drink Koi bubble tea in singapore but I got to drink it in TaiPei!!! In taipei, its call "wu shi lan" (50 岚)!

Order and wait! ^-^

I'm lovin my pudding milk tea!!! Its so addictive!

Spotted the famous toilet themed restaurant!!!

Next, its the duper famous "Ah Zhong Mian Xian"!!!

Its piping hot and duper delicious!!! Highly recommended!

Before heading back, we get to catch a glimsp of the famous Xi Men Ding Red House~

12:06 AM
Day 2

Activity 1:
TamSui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水渔人码头)

Travelling on taipei metro in the metropolitan city of Taipei is so easy and safe!

Special zone for the ladies and "true" priority seats for the needy!
What I meant by "true" is that even when there isn't any needy passengers around and the train is packed, the others do not seat on the priority seats. Super considerate!

Here we are! At TamSui station!!! Love the red-brick exterior!

From the moment you step out of station, there is this tourist friendly map which tells you how to get to the various attractions around TamSui! And if you are still confuse, you can always ask the control station staffs who are FRIENDLY!

Though we had a sumptuous breakfast buffet at Hotel 8 Zone but how can we resist Mister donut!!! Its super chewy! taste lik cream puff but in donut looking shape! must try!

After arriving at tamsui station, we walked a short distance to the ferry ticket box office! To-and-fro ferry ride for only NT100!

The beautiful seaside view we got to see on the way to the ferry terminal! Though the weather was pretty hot that day, the seabreeze helps to cool us down~

Ferry terminal accepts easycard too!

Waiting under the shelther for the ferry to arrive!

Here comes the ferry!!! I used to have seasickness when i was young but the ride is surprisingly stable so i did not feel nauseous throughout the ride!

CLEAR BLUE SKY!!!

TamSui Lover's bridge (淡水情人桥)is a iconic bridge in TamSui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水渔人码头!

attempting a star jump upon arrival! whee~

As the weather was hot, we got a special drink from a convenience store! Its lemon jelly fig drink! jelly fig (爱玉) is a very common food in taiwan! It definitely helps to cool us down in such a hot weather!

Taiwan's receipt!!! (发票) The special part about their receipt is that its a monthly lucky draw ticket too! This receipt can also be donated to the charity which means that the winning amount will go to charity organizations! Most people donate their receipts as we can see from the huge amount of receipts in the charity box.

On the Lover's Bridge!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Activity 2:
TamSui Freshwater street (淡水老街)

Tamsui freshwater street is just next to the ferry terminal!!!

At TamSui freshwater street, there is the famous "4-Ah" that you must try!!!

1) "Ah Ma De" sourplum drink (“阿妈的”酸梅汤)

totally thirst quencing! for only NT25!!!

2) "Ah Gei" (阿给)

"ah gei" is Tung Hoon wrapped in fried tofu skin sealed with fish paste and top with special gravy! Its nice! For only NT30!!!

Other 2 dishes in "ah gei" shop which are equally tasty! The fishball soup (鱼丸汤) and stir-fried beehoon (炒米粉)! Also NT30 each!!!

3) "Ah Po" Tie Dan (阿婆铁蛋)

A great souvenir to bring home!!!

4) "Ah Xiang" Prawn roll (阿香虾卷)

Long queue forming outside the shop!!!

Its crispy and hot!!! Freshly made on the spot! for only NT15! and you get to choose from a variety of sauces to spread on your prawn roll! If you want 3 different sauces on your 3 prawn roll, go ahead! That's what we did!

Next is Mango Snow Ice! I've seen it on TV for so many times but am now tasting it for real!!! Its huge (serve around 3) and cost only NT50!!! Melt in your mouth mango flavoured snow ice (the ice is mango flavoured, not plain ice with mango syrup) with chewy addictive taro ball! A match made in heaven!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Activity 3:
National Palace Museum (故宫博物院)

Bus-ride in taipei! We board one that requires you only to "pay when alighting" which means you only tap your EasyCard once, when alighting!

The special 2 above refers to the "Speak low" and "no noise" instructions! The bus ride was very comfortable as it was really noise free, no loud chatters, no blasting of songs through mobiles. There is also a suggestions box for you to give your feedback on the spot!

Here we are! At the national palace museum! It is very very magnificent and you just have to be there to feel it! I felt like an ant over there!!! haha.

Notice the rubbish bin! It is also SO "palace" looking!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Activity 4:
ShiLin Night Market (士林夜市)

We've heard it, seen it on tv and here we are, experiencing it!!!

The crowd just gets more and more as the night goes~

Now we shall move on to the FOOD in shilin night market!
Most of them are very famous as you've probably seen them on TV and guidebook!

They smash up a small crispy cracker and wrap it in popiah skin! soft on the outside, crispy on the inside! For only NT35!!!

Its honey drink with egg yolk! It sounds a little weird but trust me, there isn't even any EGG taste in it and it taste super super delicious! For NT50!

4) Fried Oyster Omelette (蚝仔煎)

This oyster omelette taste rather different from the one we have in singapore as this is more starchy and has veggie in it with a special sweet-tasting sauce! I love the veggie! ^-^

5) FROG EGG DRINK (青蛙下蛋)

I am super terrified of frog so when i first heard of this drink, I was pretty reluctant to try it cause I thought it is a frog-related drink. But the "frog egg" actually refers to mini pearls in the drink! Haha! There is also jelly-fig (爱玉) in the drink too! It has a very refreshing lemonish taste! Cost NT50!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Activity 5:
Sightseeing at Taipei City Hall

After leaving ShiLin Night Market, we took a metro from JianTan station (剑潭站)and alight at Taipei City Hall station (市政府站)for some sightseeing! When we were preparing our itinerary, there is a few must see around this area and here they are!

1) Eslite bookstore (诚品书店)

This bookstore is 11 storey tall and looks as grand as a shopping mall!
Eslite bookstore has many outlet in taipei and this is the "xinyi dian" (信义店)outlet.
There are many different sections and stores inside and thus it doesn't only sell books!
So when your book-lover friend is chomping down books, you can always shop around!

2) Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Shopping Mall (新光三越)

Lovely View of it from across the streets!

3) NewYork NewYork Shopping mall (纽约纽约)
